Georgia-based BJ Wilbanks' distinctive
style plays on the rich sounds of slow-burning 60's rhythm 'n' blues. The back
porch soul man recorded his new self-titled album live to tape on vintage
equipment and the recordings are imbued with the nostalgic love of analogue. It
also didn't hurt to have Darrell Thorp (Paul
McCartney & Radiohead) at the mixing board. We have the pleasure of
premiering his newest single, "Healin' My Blues" ahead of the album
release on April 28th. One listen to the Stax brass & honeyed nostalgic
harmonies and you'll get the picture...smoldering Motown vibes with a
touch of Southern roots. BJ explains, "You know the old saying,
'only love heals a broken heart'? The very thing that can completely rip your
heart is also the only thing that can bring it back to life. So hopefully the track sounds like healing
feels, and feels like loving should."
You can purchase "Healin' My Blues" as a stand alone single or will receive a free download with the pre-order of BJ's self-titled album via Bandcamp.
