Listen: Chris Stapleton Releases New Single "Broken Halos"

Grammy-winning country musician Chris Stapleton has released “Broken Halos,” the first track off his highly anticipated forthcoming album From A Room: Volume 1—listen below.

Stapleton rose to the forefront of American country music with his acclaimed 2015 debut album Traveller, which won big at the 2016 CMA Awards. His music is heralded as a dynamic blend of twangy country, classic rock and Southern soul. While “Broken Halos” clearly borrows from traditional country music styles, other tracks may dip into the blues or folk music. This irresistible unpredictability, paired with his powerful vocals and razor-sharp songwriting skills, has propelled Stapleton into stardom.

From A Room: Volume 1 gets its name from Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, where the album was recorded in the winter of 2016-17. The record is set to drop on May 5, exactly two years after the groundbreaking release of Traveller. As Volume 1 suggests, a follow-up album—Volume 2—will also be released later this year. Aside from Stapleton, Volume 1 will also feature acoustic guitarist and producer Dave Cobb, longtime bassist J.T. Cure, drummer Derek Mixon and more.

Volume 1 is currently available for preorder via Mercury Records Nashville, and with every digital order, you get an instant download of “Broken Halos.” Stapleton is currently in the middle of an extensive U.S. tour—specifically, Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show. Many of the shows are already sold out, and tickets continue to go fast. See below for the full Volume 1 tracklist and Stapleton’s remaining tour dates.
