Echo & The Bunnymen and Violent Femmes Will Tour Together This Summer

The history of co-headlining summer amphitheater tours is one fraught with uninspired and ill-conceived pairings. Luckily, this one is neither. British post-punk legends Echo & The Bunnymen will be hitting the road along with alt-folk troubadours Violent Femmes for a month-long jaunt through the U.S. this summer, starting in July.

Both bands are still known to put on exciting live shows, and this tour should make for one of the more interesting nights of music making the rounds this summer. Also, as Consequence of Sound reports, Violent Femmes are currently at work on a new album, the followup to last year’s comeback, We Can Do Anything.

You can see the full list of tour dates below, along with audio from Ian McCulloch’s 2010 Daytrotter Session and Violent Femmes’ Paste Studio session last year. Their performance of “I’m Nothing” from that session made it onto the first edition of our vinyl sampler, which you can get your hands on, along with the first issue of the Paste Quarterly, right here.
