Every year since 2014, Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Vérité has released a taut dance-pop EP flowing with dark, deep undercurrents of romantic turmoil. Those three years led the artist to cultivate a sound that weaves rich synth around addictive melodies while touring alongside the likes of Marian Hill and Shaed. With debut LP Somewhere In Between set to release June 23rd via Kobalt Music Recordings, Vérité is currently on the road with Betty Who, showcasing shimmering new tracks including “Phase Me out” and “When You’re Gone.” Paste photographer Sarah Hess met up with Vérité to stroll the Logan Square neighborhood, checking out street art and wandering around a thrift store, before shooting her performance at Concord Hall.
