Watch an Amazing All-Brass Cover of the Beatles' "Helter Skelter"

The stringless wonders of Lucky Chops blew the ceiling off the Paste Studio on Wednesday, treating us to some brassy cuts from their new EP, Walter.

The quintet, which got its start at LaGuardia High School in New York city more than a decade ago, rocks a sousaphone-saxophone-trombone-trumpet-drums lineup, leaving typical rock elements like guitars, vocals, and keyboards on the bench.

It’s also a great formula for putting new spins on old classics, and Lucky Chops are known for their wide-ranging covers. On Wednesday, along with originals “Temple of Boom,” Stand” and “For Connie,” the guys treated us to a rollicking rendition of the BeatlesWhite Album classic, “Helter Skelter.”

“We’ve always wanted to play a Beatles song, and we were like, what’s the Beatles song that rocks the most?” said trombonist Josh Holcomb. “And we were like, well, ‘Helter Skelter’ is pretty crazy, so let’s try it out.”

Check out the video below, as well as some exclusive covers of “Helter Skelter” by U2, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Pat Benetar from the bottomless Paste Cloud.
