Within the first few chords of “Fly,” it becomes evident that Dusty Wright has breathed new air into the clouded genre of country music. While incorporating traditional sounds, there’s also a fresh approach to the single that will sound slightly familiar; but his passionate tone throughout it is what leads this song into a whole new direction. The song is beautifully done from the instrumentation, to the vocal arrangements to the mix down; the entire track is an outstanding production.
“Fall Out of Line” is a strong opener for Dusty’s album entitled “Caterwauling Towards The Light.” It’s full of upbeat twang, with Dusty giving the listener a definite alternative tease in a song that can fit anywhere from a honky tonk Texas, to the top of the pop charts.
He continues his up-tempo sound on “All Revved Up;” a definite stand out track on the album this track hooks the listener into its bouncy melody with Wright showing off his strong drawl as he bellows out alto infused lyrics, “I’m all revved up rippin’ up my road, I gotta let out some steam babe, I’m ready to blow!” And blow he does on the guitar driven melody.
“The Way We Left Our Hearts,” “Weather This Storm,” and “I Am Not Willing,” are a few of the many amazing tracks on this solid project. “Caterwauling Towards The Light,” is a strong representation of a solid project, it’s lyrically solid, passionately presented, and versatile enough to position Wright in a short list of artists who evolve and withstand the tests of time.
