The Bacon Brothers are a match made in Americana heaven, implementing their own spin on an aged sound. You can watch their new video for “Broken Glass” exclusively here at Paste.
Brothers Michael and Kevin Bacon—yes, that Kevin Bacon—have been playing music together since they were young boys. They appear to be in sync in terms of their music tastes, citing The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and James Taylor as influences. Their sound is a blend of Americana and folk with notes of classic rock ‘n’ roll.
“Broken Glass” falls more on the folksy side with its confessional lyrics and uncomplicated instrumental. The video features a woman’s night out in reverse, beginning with her walking home alone and ending with the start of the day. According to Kevin, the song is “about the challenges of life as a twenty-something. The video tells the story of a night that starts with the promise of fun but ends in loneliness.” Michael adds that the video and song capture “how much more complicated life is for kids” than it was when the brothers were growing up.
