The Record Company specializes in a sweaty, grooving archetype of rock (they avoid blues comparisons, though that legacy still looms large) that pulls from the analogue soul of Chess Records and the slide guitar of latter Led Zeppelin. Two EPs and last year’s major debut, Give It Back to You, solidified the Los Angeles trio as the perfect, tactile palate cleanser to all things overproduced and superficial. Currently on tour across the US till late September, the band hit up Irving Palace in New York City a week ago.
