Chicago indie-rock group Post Animal are hitting the road at the start of June for their “Go on the Wrong Tour,” but before they do, the band’s released a clip for their semi-psychedelic new song “Special Moment,” which you can watch exclusively on Paste.

The video does have a mind-altering quality to it, but not in any good way. It starts with some blissfully mundane janitorial work by the proprietor of Walt’s Cleaning before curdling into the kind of antagonizing and bloodletting that would make Patrick Bateman proud. Not to spoil it, but poor Walter faces a fairly horrifying end in a cavernous mansion. It calls to mind American Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and perhaps a dozen other Ed Gein-related films, but maintains a wry sense of humor that none of those films possess. Credit to Post Animal and directors Alec Basse and Max Moore for crafting something that’s barbarous but also a bizarre delight to watch.

“Hello amazing earth, we in Post Animal would like to introduce our newest song to you in the form of a short film,” said the band. “We hope you enjoy it. Huey foxtrot tango! Over and out.”

Check out the full list of Post Animal’s tour dates below, plus Paste Cloud video from the band’s recent Daytrotter Session and the credits for the “Special Moment” video, which you should watch above if you haven’t already. Good luck unseeing that ending.
