Hot dogs and America are at the forefront of most Independence Day cookouts (OK – maybe America should be at the forefront, it is the reason we’re here after all), but we personally make an immediate beeline for the dessert table the moment we walk into the party. So we compiled a list of the best 4th of July cookie recipes that will show your patriotism and impress your guests.

These brown sugar pudding cookies are soft, chewy, delicious, and are sure to make you the most popular person at the party this July 4th.

What you'll need:

1 egg
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 box vanilla pudding mix, INSTANT
1/2 cup butter, unsalted
3/4 cup 4th of July M&Ms
1/4 cup red and blue sprinkles

2. Patriotic Extreme Cookies

This recipe packs all the dessert you'll need into one big cookie. Patriotism never tasted so good.

What you'll need:

4 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/3 cups brown sugar, packed
1 1/3 cups cocoa powder, unsweetened
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 package Kraft caramels
1 package Nestle chocolate chunk chips
1/2 tsp salt
1 Sprinkles, red white and blue
