There really is no feeling like hearing music for the first time and knowing that you’ve stumbled upon an excellent talent. Yellow Days was exactly that when we put our ears on English wunderkind George van den Broek’s latest single, “That Easy,” taken from the upcoming Is Everything OK In Your World?, due out later this year on Good Years.
It’s hard to not think of King Krule when hearing van den Broek’s gorgeous, gravelly vocals, dexterous guitar riffs and polished melodies on “That Easy,” and a dip into tracks off of Yellow Days’ 2016 Harmless Melodies EP is a wondrous exploration, namely the beautifully forlorn “Your Hand Holding Mine.”
“It’s almost like an account of where I am now after the EP, and saying I’m not going to give up and going to give it everything i have basically,” van der Broek says of “That Easy.” Yellow Days is an artist in a fruitful growth mode, who’s finding more of himself with each new production. Our interest is piqued. Hear “That Easy” in full below.
