Listen to Jason Isbell's New Song, "White Man's World"

Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit have given us another taste of their forthcoming album The Nashville Sound with the track “White Man’s World,” a song about the tendency for white men to be complacent with injustice that doesn’t impact their lives.

The song bears the same name as a Tupac track about the late rapper living in a world in which he was a second-class citizen. “White Man’s World” is a reminder to be aware of how you operate in the world and the impact your existence has on others. Isbell croons over a bluegrass instrumental, “Your creature comforts aren’t the only things worth fighting for,” and “I still have faith but I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the fire in my little girl’s eyes.” Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit recently visited a Kansas City, Mo., radio station to play a set from their new album, set to release on June 16 and available for preorder here.

You can listen to “White Man’s World” below and an Isbell performance from the Paste Cloud further down, plus a list of the band’s tour dates.
