Last night, Lorde was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and finally confessed to what may go down as one of the best rumors of the year.

After all but being caught with crumbs on her hands, the New Zealand pop star admitted to Fallon that she was indeed behind “@onionringsworldwide,” an Instagram account solely dedicated to reviewing onion rings.

Lorde  explained that the account was something she thought would be a fun pastime on tour and she did not realize it would become a “thing.” She has since deleted the account to prevent it from becoming a gimmick.

“It was fun for like five seconds, but I’m still going to keep eating onion rings,” she tells Fallon. “They’re my favorite. I don’t think they get enough credit for how delicious they are.”

Lorde  also spoke about secluding herself to get away from fame, making her new album Melodrama and, of course, her secret to a good onion ring (battered, not breaded, in case you were wondering).

Melodrama is out today and while there are no songs about onion rings on it, it’s still well worth the listen. Stream it here and watch Lorde’s performance of the single “Perfect Places” on Fallon below.
