The latest Netflix original comedy offering, The Standups, features the comedic stylings of Nate Bargatze, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster, Nikki Glaser, Dan Soder and Beth Stelling. Between the six of them, they reportedly tell exactly 2,395 jokes. For those keeping count at home, that’s almost 400 jokes per comic, which could either be hilarious or soul-crushing depending on the joke quality.
The 30-minute sets were filmed in L.A., and will be presented as a comedic anthology. It’s like Star Wars, but with fewer severed hands and more Chick-Fil-A references. It’s clear from the relative anonymity of these comics that Neflix intends to find up-and-coming talent alongside their bigger grabs like Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Louis C.K. and so on.
Look for the anthology to hit Netflix on July 4. Until then, check out the full release trailer above, and enjoy a Soder performance from the Paste Cloud below.
