The War On Drugs
performed the second single, “Holding On,” from their forthcoming album A Deeper Understanding on last night’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The stage seemed a bit crowded when the indie-rock band performed—the group added three more members to make the television debut of “Holding On” shimmer. The extra stage ensemble gives the Springsteen-esque track a more grandiose style, with the smooth, mimicking track feeling like a car trip down a heated interstate road.
After the band’s first 11-minute, Odyssean single was released in April, it’s clear A Deeper Understanding, which drops Aug. 25, will fill amphitheaters and music halls aplenty on the band’s fall tour.
