The eighth installment in the long-running The Fast and the Furious franchise roared into theaters earlier this year to make approximately all of the money. Paste loved the film, as evidenced by both our highly positive review and it’s spot on our list of the year’s best films so far, and we can hardly believe how enjoyable this series continues to be after 16 years of fast, furious speed racing.
One of the best things about Fast and Furious movies is that while many of their big-budget counterparts rely more and more heavily on computer-generated special effects, F&F constantly rededicates itself to practical effects and real-life, somebody-could-totally-die-doing-this stunts. As such, the behind-the-scenes extras for these films often end up being just as thrilling as the movies themselves. That’s where we really see just how they manage to pull off such death-defying exploits.
An example of some of the behind-the-scenes footage that will be included with purchases of the film include in-depth looks at the amazing cars behind the film. In the Paste-exclusive clip above, we learn a little more about Roman’s iconic, red Lamborghini that captured hearts and minds while skidding across Russia’s frozen tundra. It’s a fun clip that serves to once again remind us that way more of that movie was real than should have been humanly possible.
Be sure to watch the clip above—The Fate of the Furious is available on Digital HD now and out on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on Tuesday, July 11.
