Mick Jagger has made the ultimate genre crossover with his latest track, “England Lost,” an energetic bop that features none other than English grime rapper Skepta that was premiered on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe, just a day after the Rolling Stone frontman’s 74th birthday.
Jagger said of working with Skepta, “He really wants to get the best out of himself. He’s quite serious is some ways, but funny.” Amidst rumors that his solo work would take precedent over the band, he revealed to Lowe that The Stones have been in the studio working on new songs. Jagger also released another song and full video titled “Gotta Get A Grip,” which is a punchy, punkish tune. The video features Girls star Jemima Kirke and is an amalgamation of ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and the club scenes of modern day.
