Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection to a terror threat that led to the cancellation of the Allah-Las concert in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Wednesday night, The Guardian reports. The man, whose identity was not released, was arrested early Thursday morning in the Brabant province, southeast of Rotterdam. Other details concerning the arrest have yet to be released.
The Rotterdam police called off the show after they received a tip from Spanish authorities about the time and venue of the potential attack. Allah-Las and guests at The Maassilo were evacuated before the show began.
The band’s label Mexican Summer released a statement regarding the incident: “The band is unharmed and are very grateful to the Rotterdam police and other responsible agencies for detecting the potential threat before anyone was hurt.”
Hours after the threat, police stopped a van with Spanish license plates containing several gas canisters near the concert venue. They arrested the driver, who appeared to be drunk, but after questioning him and searching his home, they concluded that his activity was unrelated to terrorism.
Allah-Las are set to play a concert tonight in Warsaw, Poland, where plainclothes police will be deployed to “ensure security of people taking part in the concert and those who will find themselves in the area,” per the AP.
The band recently announced the release of their forthcoming new EP Covers #1 and are currently on a European tour. Watch a performance of theirs from the Paste Cloud below.
