Founding Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have done an admirable job preserving their band’s legacy while honoring Freddie Mercury’s memory. In 2004, the duo recruited Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers for a tour and surprisingly catchy album (The Cosmos Rocks), adopting the moniker Queen (plus) Paul Rodgers to define it as a new formula building on the group’s previous incarnation, as opposed to a confirmed rebirth. That algorithm evolved considerably after Kris Allen and Adam Lambert joined May and Taylor for a 2009 rendition of “We Are The Champions” on American Idol, leading to a touring stint for Lambert. The better part of a decade later, Queen (plus) Adam Lambert are on tour and hit Barclays last week, where photographer Amy Harris shot the glitter, leather and rhinestones. Queen (plus) Adam Lambert wrap the American leg of their tour in Houston on Saturday before heading to Europe in November.
