The gorgeous and colorful Okami is returning yet again, this time in 4K resolution. Capcom has announced that Okami HD will hit Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC by the end of this year.
Okami is an adventure game following Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess taking the form of a white wolf. Players can take advantage of Amaterasu’s unique abilities, most significantly the Celestial Brush, which players use to draw lines and shapes to access different powers.
The game originally released for Playstation 2 in 2006, developed by Clover Studio (which was shuttered and reformed into Platinum Games). Developer Ready at Dawn ported the game to Wii in 2008, with the Wii Remote motion-sensing and IR functionality used for the Celestial Brush. Capcom remastered the game in high definition for the first time in 2012, with the game being re-released for Playstation 3. Now on current platforms, Okami will take full advantage of 4K graphics. Just think of how clear that IGN watermark will look now.
Okami HD will be available in physical form for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and digital form for the two consoles and PC on Dec. 12 for $19.99. Watch the trailer for the remastering below.
