Please Listen to Jimmy Kimmel, and Call Congress So We Can Stop Their Evil Health Care Bill yet Again

I’m getting really sick of having to write posts where I plead with you to call your Congressman and plead with them to strike down a health care bill specifically designed to bankrupt and/or kill sick people—all so insurance companies can make even more money—but here we are yet again. Jimmy Kimmel seems exasperated too—as he’s already been through the ringer once when his newborn son nearly died while the Republicans were trying to pass the AHCA—and last night he said “before you post a nasty Facebook message saying I’m politicizing my son’s health problems, I want you to know: I am politicizing my son’s health problems, because I have to.”

Please watch the rest of his monologue. It’s a simple, eloquent summary of where we presently stand, and what will happen if this insult to humanity becomes law.

Occasional Hashtag Resistance hero Lindsey Graham teamed up with Bill “I am lying to your face as we speak” Cassidy to introduce yet another, worse version of the most unpopular bill in three decades, all so the Republicans could make good on their eternal promise to repeal the (Republican) health care plan implemented by President Obama—and then they wonder how their voters wound up choosing an angry orange weasel over their platoon of empty suits filling the D.C. swamp to its brim.

Republicans are rushing this bill through Congress because they know that the more time we have to learn about it, the less we’ll want them to pass it. They don’t even want us to know what it may cost in both human lives and dollars before it gets voted into law.

This is pure evil—and at a certain level, these Senators know it. That's why they're behaving this way: because they want to keep the insurance money flowing into their Super PACs, while also ensuring that their voters don't know who murdered their poor relative. In fact, that's why this bill has yet to cross the finish line. Because everyday folks like you took the time to call Congress (at 202-224-3121) to tell them that you're not going to risk people's lives all so a bunch of corrupt bureaucrats can advance an imaginary political football.

Lisa Murkowski (call her), Susan Collins (call her) and John McCain (call him) all listened to you last time, which means that they can do it again. There's also evidence provided in this thread that a brazen giveaway to the Alaska Senator may be included, so keep the heat on Murkowski (click on the tweet below to open the thread).

It’s appalling that we have to fight for the lives of the most vulnerable like this, but it’s the only card we have to play. Please call Congress. It takes five minutes—and if enough of us do it yet again, we will save (at least) thousands of lives, yet again.
