Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition Includes New and Existing DLC

If the ever-so-frightening Resident Evil 7: Biohazard wasn’t golden enough for you, Capcom has some good news. The overly subtitled Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Gold Edition will contain previously released DLC packs, including some brand new content.

Previous released content includes “Banned Footage,” which was released in two volumes this past January and February. The additional story chapters filled in some plot gaps, putting players in the shoes of Clancy, a previous victim of the quite evil Baker family. But the big news here is the addition of two new DLC packs, titled “End of Zoe” and “Not a Hero.”

“End of Zoe” is pretty much what you would expect it to be, depicting well, the end of the character Zoe. Players will “discover” what her fate will be, and Capcom describes the DLC as containing new enemies and “swamp-filled areas.” Finally, “Not a Hero” will have players as classic Resident Evil protagonist Chris Redfield, who briefly appeared at the end of the main game, in events after Resident Evil 7. “Not a Hero” was originally set for release this past spring, but was delayed unexpectedly.

Players who opt out of the Gold Edition can buy the “End of Zoe” DLC for $14.99; otherwise, players who purchased the game’s season pass will receive the pack in an update. “Not a Hero” will be free, as previously announced. If you really want to crap your pants, the DLC will also be playable with Playstation VR.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – Gold Edition will be released on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on Dec. 12. “End of Zoe” and “Not a Hero” can be obtained separately on the same day. Check out our review of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard here.
