Billy Corgan, who’s going by William Patrick Corgan these days, has a new album out called Ogilala, so he’s been making the rounds. Corgan often reveals himself to be more than a little right of rational in interviews, not least with his appearances on Alex Jones’s batshit Infowars show, where he’s managed to wrap social justice warriors, the Illuminati, Hillary Clinton and Satan in single threads of thought. He’s also espoused some fringe views (to put it mildly) on vaccines and government conspiracies. On today’s Howard Stern show, Corgan described an experience he had with an extraterrestrial or possibly superhuman shapeshifter.
“Let’s just say I was with somebody once and I saw a transformation I can’t explain,” he told Stern.
“The person transformed into something other than human,” Stern clarifies.
“Yes,” replies Corgan, “I saw it,” before reassuring Robin Quivers that he was “totally sober” at the time.
Stern does his best to pry details from the ex-Smashing Pumpkin, with little success. Corgan reports that the person, or thing, acknowledged that he/she/it had just transformed him/her/itself in front of him, but that’s all he’ll divulge. “It’s hard to explain without going into detail,” he says. “I’d rather not go into detail.” Too late, Billy!
