Haley Joel Osment to Guest Star in The X-Files Season 11

Haley Joel Osment will be returning to the same type of supernatural fiction that first made him famous. The Sixth Sense star has been confirmed to guest star in the forthcoming new season of The X-Files, per TVLine.

Little is known about Osment’s character, but the actor will appear in an episode that is said to focus heavily on series regular character Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi). “You’re going to find out a lot more about his past,” said Pileggi at New York Comic-Con. “Fans will find out who he is, where he comes from and why he is the way he is.” As series creator Chris Carter revealed that the episode will feature a younger Skinner, some have speculated that Osment may take this role.

Osment recently appeared in the HBO comedy Silicon Valley, and will be seen next in the forthcoming sci-fi comedy Future Man on Hulu. The ten-episode 11th season of The X-Files will premiere on Fox in January. Our review for the last episode aired can be found here.
