A new Mythical Pokemon is available for Pokemon Sun and Moon, courtesy of a GameStop event. For the next few weeks, players can pick up a code card that will allow them to obtain Marshadow, a new Fighting/Ghost-type Pokemon.
Marshadow is the only Pokemon in existence with that dual-type, giving it some advantages. The official Pokemon website describes the Pokemon as follows:
Known as the Gloomdweller Pokémon, the Mythical Pokémon Marshadow conceals itself in the shadows. It never appears before humans, so its very existence is the stuff of myth. Marshadow sinks into the shadows of others, and is able to copy their movements and power.
Marshadow is a very cautious Pokémon. It sinks into shadows and observes what is going on around it in such a way that no one else will notice it. This may be the reason why it is so rarely seen.
Among the numerous Pokémon discovered to date, Marshadow is remarkably the first to combine Fighting type and Ghost type. Even regarding its types, Marshadow is an extremely rare Pokémon. Fighting-type Pokémon are usually ill-suited in battle against Psychic-type Pokémon, but now you’ll be able to take advantage of Marshadow’s Ghost type to battle effectively!
Additionally, Marshadow carries a unique Z-Crystal called Marshadium Z, allowing the Pokemon to unleash a “Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike Z-Move.” Marshadow is the second Mythical Pokemon to come to Alola, after the Steel/Fairy-type Magearna was distributed through a QR code.
The GameStop event will last from today until Oct. 23. Meanwhile, an updated version of the game titled Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release on Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 17. Check out a trailer for Marshadow’s release below.
