is having a busy year. In addition to releasing his excellent record Care in March, he also formed an indie-rock supergroup Lo Tom, who released an album of their own in July. Now, he’s making the move that tops it all off: he’s reuniting his late ’90s, early ’00s indie outfit Pedro the Lion for the first time in over a decade.
Bazan announced four forthcoming Pedro shows in December—two in Portland, two in Seattle—via Twitter and promised more U.S. tour dates to follow, as well as new material from the band. It will be the first music from the band since their 2004 album Achilles Heel. Bazan also cited reasons for the band’s resurrection:
For the Seattle and Portland shows, Johnathan Ford (bass), Sean Lane (drums) and Erik Walters (guitar) will join Bazan on stage to perform music from the old Pedro catalog and maybe even premiere some new material.
