Nazis Are Violently Massacred In This Wolfenstein II Launch Trailer

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is launching later this month, and developer Bethesda Softworks unveiled a quite not safe for work launch trailer to commemorate its eventual release (seen above). And boy, is there a lot of Nazi-killing in it.

“They fucked with the wrong country.” “Come and fucking get me, you fascist Nazi pigs.”

Strong words, but in the long-running Wolfenstein series, shooting speaks louder than words. The action and chaos are completely over-the-top, with large and stunning set pieces. And in a post-Charlottesville country, the political overtones are more powerful than ever. A couple of weeks ago, Bethesda created a minor controversy with a tweet promoting the game:

Some expressed concern that the studio was exploiting the political climate for sales, but underneath that “criticism” were actual, butt-hurt Nazis. Apparently, “Make America Nazi-Free Again” is quite an offensive statement to real-life Nazis. Per Newsweek, here are a couple of tweets mocking the uproar.

Never mind that the Wolfenstein series has been doing this since the 1980s—people with (harmful and dangerous) opinions like poor Richard Spencer are getting punched in the streets.

Players can pit themselves against fascists and Klansmen when Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus finally arrives on Oct. 27. Revisit the previous trailer for the videogame here.
