Fans of My Morning Jacket should snap up tickets to the band’s newly announced three-night run of New Year’s shows in Broomfield, Colo., because it’ll be the only chance they’ll have to see the band in America until 2019.
Jim James and Co. confirmed on Monday that their shows with The Revolution (Prince’s legendary band) on Dec. 29, tUnE-yArDs on Dec. 30 and Karl Denison’s Tiny Universe on Dec. 31 at the 1st BANK Center will be their only U.S. live dates for the coming year. Other than that, they’ll do a five-night run in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, in March. Ticket information can be found here.
Though My Morning Jacket haven’t released an album since 2015’s The Waterfall, the individual members have had a busy 2017. Keyboardist Bo Koster just finished performing with Roger Waters on his Us + Them Tour and will be joining Waters’s touring band in 2018 as well. Koster and guitarist Carl Broemel also recently performed on Ray LaMontagne’s upcoming 2018 album, and Broemel is touring this month in support of his second solo album, 4th of July.
James has announced Tribute To 2, a collection of cover songs set for a Dec. 8 release. He announced the album with “I Just Wasn’t Made For These Times,” by The Beach Boys. He’ll also release a re-issue of Tribute To, his George Harrison covers EP from 2009, on Dec. 8, with a new album cover and the bonus track “If Not For You” by Bob Dylan.
