Wire, Fugazi's Guy Picciotto and Jessica Pratt to Play Marfa Myths 2018

2018 might not be here yet, but there’s already plenty to look forward to for the new year. Especially the news that was just announced by record label Mexican Summer about what they have in store for their fifth annual Marfa Myths festival.

The event, which takes place in the west Texas town of Marfa, will be going down from April 12th through the 15th and is a multi-disciplinary delight with musicians and visual artists collaborating and exploring new ideas together, as well as a finely curated lineup of concerts that highlights some of the most forward-thinking music being made today.

This year might be one of the festival’s best lineups yet, ranging from modular synth maestro Suzanne Ciani, post-punk legends Wire, Detroit house producer Omar-S, singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt and one of the kings of the Brazilian Tropicália movement Tom Zé. Another highlight is the recording residency being undertaken by Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox and Cate Le Bon who will, according to the press material, “realizing a long correspondence and friendship in a creative, collaborative context.”

Tickets for the festival are already on sale here, with early bird passes, for a limited time, going for $180.
