In this exclusive clip from Amazon Prime Video’s holiday special, Pete the Cat: A Groovy New Year, Pete (Jacob Tremblay), party horn at the ready, hands out invitations to his New Year’s Eve shindig to his friends in Cat City. Come for Callie (Alyson Stoner) rehearsing CatGo and the 9 Lives’ self-titled hit, “CatGo and the 9 Lives (We’re Gonna Make You Feel Good),” stay for Grumpy Toad (The Middle’s Atticus Shaffer) catching himself exhibiting a little too much enthusiasm for Pete’s soirée.

Based on illustrator James Dean’s beloved children’s books, Pete the Cat has both animation pedigree—the showrunner is Phineas and Ferb vet Jeff “Swampy” Marsh—and musical cred—Pete’s parents are voiced by Elvis Costello and Diana Krall, and CatGo’s lead singer, Catalina, is voiced by KT Tunstall. Talk about a New Year’s Rockin’ Eve!

Here’s the streaming platform’s synopsis of the special:

It’s New Year’s Eve and everyone in Cat City is excited about making New Year’s Resolutions. That is, everyone except Pete the Cat—Pete doesn’t even know what a resolution is! He enlists his pals to get some clarity on the whole resolution situation, but soon finds it’s not so simple.

Pete the Cat: A Groovy New Year premieres Tuesday, Dec. 26 on Amazon Prime Video. Be sure to check out our guide to the 20 holiday TV specials you can’t miss this month.
