It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Dana Janssen, the musician from Portland who records under the name Dana Buoy. His last release came in 2014 and since then, he’s been laying a little low, and apparently gathering strength as he’s now ready to shoot out of the gate with a new album (Ice Glitter Gold, which arrives from Everloving Records on February 23rd). Recorded in his hometown and in New York with his frequent musical partner Justin Miller, the new full-length is a sparkling electro-pop wonder that should help kick off springtime with rays of sunshine and Janssen’s soft touch vocals.
The former Akron/Family member was kind enough to kick down the title track of this new album for us to share with our beloved readers. And of this tune, Janssen says, “Living in Portland, OR for a fair amount of time will eventually, and inevitably, lead to you writing a song for an ecdysiast.” Look it up. We’re not going to do all the work for you.
