New on Amazon Prime Video: All the Movies and TV Coming in February

Streaming entertainment is as all-encompassing as ever in 2018, and despite the overwhelming torrent of wonderful things to watch, we at Paste continue to do our level best to take in every bit of it. With that impossible goal in mind, here are all the worthwhile movies and TV shows headed to Amazon Prime Video in February.

Amazon’s feature film slate for next month is particularly impressive, balancing classics with acclaimed recent releases. In the classics department, the streamer is adding British crime caper A Fish Called Wanda, Sergio Leone’s legendary Wester The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Diane Keaton-starring dramedy Manhattan, iconic near-future New York City gang thriller The Warriors and 1984 American invasion action flick Red Dawn. On the more recent end of the spectrum, Amazon is trotting out a handful of awards-season favorites from 2017, including Robert Pattinson-starring indie crime thriller Good Time, Steven Soderbergh-helmed heist comedy Logan Lucky and Martin McDonagh’s divisive crime drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, available for purchase through Amazon Video. So whether you’re backtracking on your Hollywood history, or catching up on the latest Oscar nominees in waiting, Amazon’s February film slate has something for you to get excited about. The streamer is also putting out an original documentary next month: Human Flow (Feb. 16), which Amazon describes as “an epic film journey led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei” that “elucidates both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact.” And those of you who use Amazon Channels can look forward to a pair of 2017 superhero standouts, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman and Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Speaking of Amazon originals, there are a number among the streamer’s television offerings coming next month. Two new original series debut in February: Absentia, streaming Feb. 2, stars Stana Katic (Castle) as an FBI agent who goes missing and is declared dead in absentia before, six years later, it’s revealed that she is being held captive, and she becomes the primary suspect in a series of murders; GRAND PRIX Driver, streaming one week later on Feb. 9, is a Michael Douglas-narrated series that explores the secretive world of Formula 1 racing, showcasing never-before-granted access to the inner workings of Formula 1’s most prestigious team, McLaren. As for returning Amazon originals, the Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning series Mozart in the Jungle starts its fourth season on Feb. 16—the music-centric dramedy series stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Lola Kirke, Bernadette Peters, Malcolm McDowell and Saffron Burrows. Season four finds Rodrigo (Bernal) and Hailey (Kirke) taking their relationship public, with Hailey struggling to prove herself as a conductor and Rodrigo fighting to keep his inspiration alive. And The Tick, the superhero satire series that Amazon just this week renewed for a second season, comes back for the second half of its first season on Feb. 23. Season 1B finds Peter Serafinowicz’s titular crimefighter and his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) on a collision course between justice and villainy. Lastly, there are a handful of noteworthy pay-cable shows available via Amazon Channels, including the debut of Two Dope Queens and season five of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver from HBO, Homeland’s seventh season on Showtime and season three of Ash vs. Evil Dead at Starz.
