Grammy Winners The War On Drugs Announce Spring/Summer Tour Dates

The War On Drugs   won their first-ever Grammy at Sunday’s 60th awards, taking home Best Rock Album for their acclaimed fourth LP A Deeper Understanding. To celebrate, they’re taking their entrancing show on the road for a run of spring/summer tour dates.

Following a headlining run at the Laneway Festival in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, The War On Drugs will continue touring Europe and North America, performing at festivals including Coachella, Primavera Sound, Mountain Jam Festival, Panorama, Forecastle, Shaky Knees and XPoNential Music Festival. Today, they’ve added a number of North American shows—scroll down to see their full slate.

A Deeper Understanding, released last August on Atlantic Records, made Paste’s list of last year’s best albums. In his review of the record, Ryan J. Prado lauded The War on Drugs’ “capacity to explode in relentless, dialed parameters that touch on everything from A-ha to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Empire Burlesque-era Dylan,” as well as the album’s “ability to bridge seemingly disparate eras of sound under one weird parasol.”

In addition to landing them their first Grammy, A Deeper Understanding also featured The War On Drugs’ first number-one single, “Pain.” The band performed the song on The Tonight Show just last week, in addition to bringing the “Pain” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August.
