AP: Donald Trump Jr.'s Wife Opens Envelope Containing White Powder, Taken to Hospital

Per the AP, Vanessa Trump was taken to a hospital today after opening a letter that contained a white powder substance. (UPDATE: The NYPD says a preliminary test indicates the powder isn’t dangerous.)

This story is still developing, and will be updated when more information becomes available. Vanessa Trump’s condition is not known at this time, nor has there been a positive identification of the white powder.

Update, 1:48 p.m.: The AP story has some additional detail:

They say Vanessa Trump called 911 Monday morning after opening a letter addressed to Donald Trump Jr. at their midtown Manhattan apartment. Police say she said she was coughing and felt nauseous.

And:

Detectives from the New York Police Department’s intelligence division and Secret Service agents are investigating. A spokeswoman for the Secret Service hasn’t responded to a request for comment.

Police say a hazmat unit is also at the scene.

Update, 2:01 p.m.: The AP has added this text:

A police department spokesman says a preliminary test of the powder indicated it wasn’t dangerous.
