Brooklyn’s Citris have a new single out today, and it’s a woozy breakup anthem that highlights a very specific — and relatable — feeling of romantic regret. Listen to “Driving Me Crazy,” which follows last year’s Panic in Hampton Bays LP, when a short relationship ends abruptly — you weren’t quite in real love, but you also didn’t expect it to end, and now the whole thing’s just one giant bummer.
“You don’t love me no more/ I guess that serves me right,” singer Angelina Torreano shrugs, embracing her new, more loyal companion: Weed. “Now I get real high/ I guess I’m sort of bummed.”
Like the relationship it’s based on, “Driving Me Crazy” is misleading; it begins as a gentle ballad, then erupts into massive, head-banging choruses, with Torreano wailing over a fuzzed-out guitar. Check it out below.
