It Is Superficial to Make Fun of Donald Trump's Unfortunate Hair Incident. Please Everyone Stop.

Last Friday, Feb. 2, Donald Trump left Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland to head to Mar a Lago. Getty photographer Saul Loeb was on the scene, and took a photo as Trump climbed the stairs to Air Force One:

It turns out, there's also video:

Here at Paste, we want to emphasize that the dissemination of these images, along with any idle speculation that Trump's hair may be somehow fake, is grossly irresponsible. As is uploading the footage to YouTube:

The problems we face are real and manifold, and wasting precious moments spreading unflattering photos and videos of Donald Trump's hair only serves to waste time. It is superficial, vulgar behavior. We at Paste are no fans of Trump, but even we draw the line at common mockery. What good does it do to post tweets like the following:

Or this one:

Or this one:

Or this one:

Or this one:

Or this one:

Or to write whole articles about it, like TMZ, or Salon, or Jonathan Chait at New York Magazine, which include paragraphs like this one:

It was horrific. It was the worst hair day of what has been a bad hair life. And it may seem cheap and low to mock Trump's absurd efforts to conceal his hair loss. But Trump is a man obsessed with image in ways that go beyond the normal human concern with looking presentable. Image is Trump's moral code. He dismisses his political rivals for being short. He sees his succession of wives as visual testament to his own status. He selects his Cabinet on the basis of their looking the part. He conscripts the military as a prop to bathe himself in an aura of presidential grandeur.

Folks, this is just low. Please stop this bad behavior now. If you have a platform of any kind, do not use it to spread pictures or videos of Donald Trump's embarrassing hair incident. On behalf of Paste, I thank you very much.
