New on Amazon Prime Video: All the Movies and TV Coming in March

Spring is in the air, and soon enough, a new batch of movies and shows will be on your television screen. As the weather gets better, you might be tempted to step outside and enjoy it, but we wouldn’t recommend that—there’s simply too much to watch. See what we mean below, with our breakdown of all the new programming coming to Amazon Prime Video in March.

Amazon’s incoming film slate is promising, with a handful of particularly exciting additions in the offing. Leading the way on March 1 is Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which Paste’s review describes as the Fifth Element writer-director’s “passion project, a massive sci-fi epic in which he seems to fire off every strange idea he’s ever had.” Although the film did not do particularly well with critics (though its 49 percent on Rotten Tomatoes is not all that terrible) and was one of 2017’s biggest box-office bombs (grossing less than a third of its considerable production budget in the U.S., per Box Office Mojo), viewers seem unanimous in their admiration of Valerian’s otherworldly visuals, meaning you could likely do much worse if you’re in the market for some imaginative, escapist entertainment for which you won’t need to leave the house, streaming exclusively on Amazon. Also incoming on the first of the month are the John Hurt-starring adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984, Oscar-nominated French romantic comedy Amelie, Richard Linklater’s 2005 remake of sports-comedy classic Bad News Bears, 2011 Duplass brothers dramedy Jeff Who Lives at Home, Oscar-winning Jodie Foster drama The Accused, extreme Vin Diesel vehicle xXx and a number of James Bond films, including Pierce Brosnan’s first effort as 007, 1995’s Goldeneye. Several noteworthy new movies hit Amazon later in the month, as well, including bittersweet, Ben Stiller-starring Amazon original comedy Brad’s Status on March 2, 2017’s middling Power Rangers reboot on March 9, raunchy 2017 convent comedy The Little Hours on March 27 and intense 2016 thriller Imperium, starring Daniel Radcliffe as an FBI agent who infiltrates a white supremacist group, on March 31.

As for Amazon’s incoming TV fare, there’s not a whole lot to report, although the streamer does have a notable original series returning for a second season: Sneaky Pete, which we highlighted as a can’t-miss series upon its initial debut. The “compulsively watchable,” Bryan Cranston-co-created crime drama, starring Giovanni Ribisi as the titular con man, returns on March 9. Other Prime originals streaming next month include the debut seasons of The Dangerous Book for Boys, a dramedy adapted from the Conn and Hal Iggulden bestseller of the same name (exact date TBD), and music competition show The Remix (March 9). Also coming next month are the second seasons of PBS thriller The Tunnel and British comedy The Durrells in Corfu, and Prime members subscribed to CBS All Access can stream season two of the acclaimed The Good Wife spinoff The Good Fight starting on March 4 via Amazon Channels.
