T-Pain Responds to Quincy Jones' Vulture Interview Criticism

T-Pain has responded publicly to Quincy Jones’ comments on their 2010 collaboration, made in Jones’s no-holds-barred interview with Vulture.

To put things in perspective, the “I’m in Love with a Stripper” singer collaborated with the legendary composer on a remake of the Michael Jackson hit “PYT” with blue-eyed soul singer Robin Thicke for 2010’s Soul Bossa Nova. When looking back at the collaboration, Jones stated, “T-Pain, man, he didn’t pay attention to the details.”

T-Pain (along with the rest of the world) caught wind of the jaw-dropping interview and responded on Wednesday in a series of tweets.

From the looks of things, T-Pain may have been forced into doing the song against his better judgment. With so many bombshells coming from this interview, Jones has seen and heard a lot in his 60-plus years in the entertainment business.

By coincidence (or perhaps not), the interview comes at a time when Netflix is gearing up to release a documentary based on the iconic music producer, while CBS will be airing a television special in his honor.

This reaction, along with many others, speaks to the old Hollywood adage: “Any publicity is good publicity.”

Listen to what the legendary maestro had to say in the 1984 interview below.
