Violent Femmes Announce Summer Tour

Violent Femmes are bringing their folk-punk sound to the masses on their upcoming summer tour. The veteran band out of Milwaukee, Wis., will be traveling through 10 cities across the U.S., starting in Denver, Colo.’s Botanical Gardens on June 11.

Violent Femmes’ latest studio album We Can Do Anything, released in 2016 via PIAS America, symbolized the band’s long-awaited return from their recording hiatus. It was the band’s first studio album since 2000’s Freak Magnet.

Following that, Violent Femmes saw the release of their live album, 2 Mics & The Truth: Unplugged & Unhinged in America, which captured the spirit and spontaneity of the band’s live shows with rearranged versions of their classic songs, unrehearsed song requests and on-the-spot improvisations.

The band is sure to bring the same spirit and liveliness to their upcoming summer tour. As part of their month-long run, Violent Femmes will be among the top musicians playing at the upcoming Arroyo Seco Weekend in Pasadena, Calif.—joining them on stage will be Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters, The Bangles, Los Lobos, The Revolution, Irma Thomas and Aaron Neville, just to name a few.
