Watch J Mascis Cover Led Zeppelin's "Tangerine"

On Wednesday night, a few thousand Led Zeppelin fans braved a New York City blizzard to catch “The Music of Led Zeppelin,” the latest in a series of annual concerts at the iconic theater staged to benefit music education for underprivileged youth. The stacked lineup included O.A.R., moe., The Zombies, Bettye LaVette, Joseph Arthur, Living Colour and Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis, among others. The night before, as Stereogum notes, Mascis joined some of his billmates for a rehearsal show at City Winery, playing a faithful version of “Tangerine,” from 1970’s Led Zeppelin III.

Led Zeppelin, marking 50 years since their debut, recently announced a vinyl box set of their How the West Was Won live album, and they’re also releasing a limited-edition 7-inch single featuring two previously unheard mixes of Zeppelin songs for Record Store Day, which arrives April 21.
