Exclusive: The Wombats Announce North American Fall Headlining Tour

On the heels of their acclaimed new album Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, Liverpool indie rockers The Wombats have set a 17-date headlining tour of North America for this fall.
Matthew “Murph” Murphy, Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland Knudsen will kick off their newly announced run in Los Angeles on Sept. 27, criss-crossing the U.S. and making their way into Canada for a Montreal stop before concluding the tour in New York City on Oct. 30. This leg comes on the heels of the trio’s fully sold-out U.K. headlining tour, which they capped off with a sold-out show at London’s massive-capacity Alexandra Palace.
Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, the trio’s fourth studio album, landed in the Billboard Top 200 and hit #3 on the U.K. Album Chart the week of its Feb. 9 release. Its exuberant single “Turn,” which Murphy described to Paste as “a beautiful mistake” upon the song’s release, has been particularly popular with listeners. The band released a hypnotic, Murphy-starring music video for the standout track in April, which you can (and should) revisit here.
Ahead of their new tour, The Wombats have a busy summer on the books, including shows on the co-headlining Weezer and Pixies tour, as well as recently announced performances at Chicago’s Lollapalooza in August and Texas’ Austin City Limits in October.
