romantic. Formed in Charleston, South Carolina, She Returns From War is the
project of trans Americana singer/songwriter/guitarist, Hunter Park. Founded in
2012, the project was inspired by the style and glamour of musicians like
Parton, Parsons, and of course Emmy Lou.
“Dream Machine” is the first single from their upcoming new
album, Mirrored Moon Dance Hall, which is the second full-length installment and fourth release from She Returns
producer Ryan Wolfgang Zimmerman (SUSTO, Band of Horses). The result finds
Park’s vision purely expressed, from blues-roots to Baroque pop, from
Strokes-like guitar hooks to campfire songs, from 90s nostalgia to
60s dream folk; “Mirrored Moon..” captures Park at her finest and delivers
a range of musical styles for any listener.
“Mirrored Moon Dance Hall” comes at a time when there is desperate need for a
voice to be heard, and in this regard She Returns from War sings
eloquent poetry. Park’s portrayal deconstructs social trivialities, and in
