If you’re lucky enough to be in Oakland tonight, you’d be well served by getting to the Golden Bull to have your hair blown back and your skin tinged by the Vancouver trio lié. These ladies are embarking on another quick tour up and down the West Coast, this time meant to fan the already hot flames of buzz surrounding the forthcoming release of their second album Hounds (out on July 6th via Monofonus Press and Mint Records).
The group calls itself “dark punk,” which is probably the best descriptor you’re going to get for their head-snapping sound that, as you’ll hear from this new track “Can’t Get Enough,” goes from cool and moody to inflamed and agitated with authority and speed. But at least they have a sense of humor too, which is on full display in this perfectly shoddy video that looks like it was shot on an aging camcorder ca. 1988.
