Nine Inch Nails
shared an urgent new track Thursday, “God Break Down the Door,” which precedes the June 22 release of their next record, Bad Witch. You can listen to the new song, which wields some heavy percussion and an echoey saxophone, below.
Bad Witch will be the final EP in a trilogy that’s been in the works since 2016’s Not The Actual Events—last year, the band released the second, ADD VIOLENCE. “God Break Down the Door” premiered on Beats 1 on Thursday morning, and lead vocalist Trent Reznor told host Zane Lowe that “the idea of this three EP thing was all to find truth in us figuring out who we are now and how we fit into the world.”
This summer, Nine Inch Nails will play three sold-out shows in Las Vegas, followed by a run of worldwide appearances. They’ll kick off their “Cold and Black and Infinite” North American tour, with support from Scottish rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain, this September. That tour will see the band take Red Rocks Amphitheater for two nights (Sept. 18-19), Radio City Music Hall for two nights (Oct. 13-14) and, lastly, the Hollywood Palladium in L.A. for four (Dec. 7-12). Check out all of their North American tour dates right here.
However, if you want tickets early, you’ll have to go directly to the box office of your chosen venue, as part of what the band is calling “The Physical World” presale event, which happens exclusively this Friday, May 19. The only exception is the Red Rocks show, tickets for which are going on sale Saturday, May 20, at the Denver Coliseum Box Office. Remaining tickets will go on sale online at a later date, according to the band’s website, which also offers an explanation for this off-kilter presale method:
The promise of a world made better by computers and online connectivity has failed us in many ways, particularly when it comes to ticketing. Everything about the process sucks and everyone loses except the reseller. We’ve decided to try something different that will also likely suck, but in a different way.
Calculations of suckiness aside, Nine Inch Nails will also have supporting performances from TOBACCO, Daniel Avery, Death in Vegas and Kite Base, among others, during the tour.
