Update: Rockstar Games has made Red Dead Redemption 2’s prematurely revealed preorder bonuses official, also detailing the game’s Special Edition, Ultimate Edition and Collector’s Box. You’ll find more details via Rockstar’s post below.
Original Story: Rockstar Games’ hotly anticipated open-world, Western epic Red Dead Redemption 2 briefly had its preorder bonuses revealed via an Xbox One store listing. The listing was quickly taken down, but ResetEra user Simo captured an image of the fleeting preorder listing. The listing in question tells us little about Red Dead Redemption 2’s story or characters, but the ostensible preorder bonuses will definitely appeal to Grand Theft Auto 5: Online players.
According to the image, Red Dead Redemption 2’s preorder bonuses include a cash bonus for the story mode, the Outlaw Survival Kit (little is known about what this is or how it works), $500,000 in Grand Theft Auto: Online cash and the warhorse mount from the first Red Dead game. Also, those who preorder before July 31 will receive an exclusive treasure map for use in Red Dead Redemption 2’s story mode.
Due to the accidental nature of the listing, it is unknown when official preorders will go live but seeing as how there is a bonus for preordering before July 31, a purposeful listing is likely right around the corner.
