Watch Arctic Monkeys Sing Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino Tracks "Live at the BBC"

It’s been exactly one month since the Arctic Monkeys released their polarizing sixth studio album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. The dust has settled, and listeners have now had time to air their grievances and sing their praises. This weekend, the British rockers stopped by the Maida Vale Studios at BBC Radio 1 to perform a set, and, like it or not, they haven’t lost a bit of their luster.

They treated listeners not only to new songs, but also to some old material, as well. You can watch the band perform “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor” from 2006’s Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not and “Four Out Of Five” from their latest LP, below. You can also listen to the entire set right here.

While Tranquility Base Casino & Hotel is certainly a divisive record, as it deviates from the band’s signature scraggly rock and leans into more esoteric territory, it has proved to be just as popular among consumers. In the first week alone, the LP smashed Britain’s records for vinyl sales, moving 24,500 units and beating out the 25-year record.

Alex Turner and co. may be one of the last band’s to play BBC’s legendary Maida Vale Studios in London, which the BBC recently announced will soon close. The studios have played host to decades of musicians including The Beatles, Radiohead, Oasis and so many more.
