Christine And The Queens Announces New Album Chris, Shares New Single/Video

French pop songstress Héloïse Letissier has announced her second album under the alias Christine and The Queens. It’s called Chris, and it’s out Sept. 21 via Because Music. On Thursday, she shared a new single, “Doesn’t Matter,” with accompanying visuals. Watch and listen below.

Letissier writes, sings and speaks in both French and English. So the new single from her forthcoming album, “Doesn’t Matter,” has a second title, “Voleur de soleil,” which translates to “sun thief.” The song’s crisp synth-pop is equally thrilling in both languages. Francophiles, keep scrolling to listen to the French version.

Letissier said of “Doesn’t Matter,” in a statement, “It’s a crisis song that I wrote late one night. This song is a cathedral, with a rhythm as unalterable as white stone. The bass line, I remember playing it for hours, as if to rock myself.”

The first single from Chris,“Girlfriend,” featured Dâm-Funk and was released in May. Christine and The Queens’ self-titled debut album (the French title is Chaleur Humaine) dawned in 2014 and an EP, Saint Claude, followed the next year.

Again, you can listen to both the English and French renditions of “Doesn’t Matter” below. Further down you’ll find the Chris album art and Christine and The Queens’ fall tour dates.

Back in 2015, we hailed Christine and The Queens as the Best of What’s Next. Read the feature here.
