After the release of his new album last Friday, Blood Orange (aka Devonté Hynes) shared a music video for “Saint” on Monday. Directed by Hynes himself, the video is packed with early-2000s nostalgic vibes.
In her review of Hynes’ Negro Swan for Paste, Jenzia Burgos describes “Saint” as “a rapturous, pleading highlight.” The video doubles down on that, with long close-ups on Hynes, his fellow musicians, and listeners. T-shirts are tucked into jeans, joints are passed and silent conversations had, all scored by Hynes’ soothing vocals.
Check out the video itself below and read our full review of Negro Swan here. You can revisit Hynes’ “Charcoal Baby” (also off his new LP) video here.
