Watch the Latest Trailer for Fox's Inside the Manson Cult: The Lost Tapes

Unsurprisingly, despite his death last November, society’s obsession with Charles Manson has yet to die down, with the latest embodiment, a Fox documentary on the Manson Family, due out next month. A first trailer at Inside the Manson Cult: The Lost Tapes debuted Monday via Variety, and it gives a truly chilling look at what the documentary has in store.

The two-hour special is based on more than 100 hours of footage, including new and archival interviews. The documentary will showcase interviews with Catherine “Gypsy” Share and Dianne “Snake” Lake, both members of the Manson Family, as well as FBI profiler John Douglas and prosecutor Stephen Kay, both of whom were involved in building the case against Manson. Bobby Beausoleil, a man now serving a life sentence for the murder he committed with the Manson family, is expected to be featured in an interview exclusive to the special. In addition to this, the documentary will give an inside look into Spahn’s Ranch—the home of the cult.

In the chilling first look, an unnamed woman is heard saying, “Every girl ought to have a daddy like Charles,” as a montage plays showing Family members living on the ranch and partaking in various drugs. She finishes her statement, “Someone that treasures them as a woman, someone that lets them do things for him,” as members of the cult are shown handling weapons. The trailer continues, depicting members growing increasingly unhinged—as is expected from the story of a hippie commune turned murderous cult.

The documentary, narrated by Liev Schreiber and produced by Naked Television, is set to air on Fox on Sept. 17. Check out the new trailer below.
