Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar Give Us One Last Summertime Smash with "Tints"

Anderson .Paak has dropped “Tints,” featuring Kendrick Lamar. It’s the first official single from his forthcoming album Oxnard, set for release through Aftermath, though the release date hasn’t been announced yet. Paak and Dr. Dre first announced the album was finished back in mid-September through social media.

For everyone who’s been hurting for some .Paak grooves, “Tints” is just what the Doc ordered. .Paak’s honeyed yelps, along with the track’s creamsicle groove, would be more than enough to help us fool ourselves into thinking it’s still summertime. But that’s not enough for .Paak—he brings in Lamar, fresh off a monstrous turn on Lil Wayne’s “Mona Lisa,” to wax lyrical and warm our hearts with an effortless verse.

Prior to today’s release, the last we’d heard from .Paak was his release of standalone single “Bubblin’” in May. Just this week, though, it was announced that .Paak will perform alongside Chance the Rapper, SZA and others at Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life, a Oct. 31 tribute concert in honor of the late rapper.
